Life
Steps – 1st October 2005 – 31st March 2007
Funded through the Learning Skills Council North Yorkshire
(ESF Objective 3 Co-financing). Life Steps has been
developed in partnership with County Care North Yorkshire
and MENCAP with the aim of supporting 200 unemployed
people with learning difficulties / disabilities through
transition, helping them to gain greater independence
by realising their potential and ultimately enter sustainable
employment. Life Steps works by supporting clients
through four phases:

identification of individual needs and delivery
of specialist guidance; |

developing a range of Skills for Life activities
to prepare clients for work
placements; |

Three |

supported employment and training placements; |
| Phase

continued support and guidance. |
